Ye Xing Qian
Ye Xing Qian is active/lives in China, France. Ye Qian is known for Abstract calligraphy, ink landscape painting and teaching.
Ye Xing Qian was born in China in 1963, and at an early age began to handle brushes and learned sculpture. He immigrated to France in 1983 and there he exhibited with young artists from France and Europe.
Back in his homeland, he was offered a personal exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts in Shanghai and over the years became known as a painter and a professor of aesthetics since he gave lectures at the University of Beijing.
Since the 1990s his style inherited from Chinese culture has changed. He still uses his calligraphy material of ink and rice paper but the patterns are increasingly abstract. The means of expression diversify the forms and colors of the compositions and are constantly renewed.
Nevertheless, the assertive style of the artist remains. His painting is characterized by great dynamics and by a remarkable mastery of the composition. The wind blows through the works of Xing Qian and our eyes are lost in mysterious chimerical landscapes.
