Alphonse Jongers
Daubray Estepp (02/28/2006)
I have not visited this board in several years. I Recently received an inquiry about Alphonse Jongers paintings. He was my Great Grandmother's second husband. I have been talking to my father(age 85yrs) about him. My father and my grandmother kept in touch with Jongers and visited him frequently until his death in Montreal. I have more information about his work if anyone is interested. I do not know about the value of his paintings. I have been told they can not be valued and have never been sold at auction. I own one portrait of my father at age 3 years. I have family members who own family portraits and landscapes.

My Grandfather
Nancy Ross (09/29/2004)
Alphonse Jongers painted a portrait of my grandfather. I understand that he lived in the Ritz Carelton in Montreal when he knew my grandfather. I understand this his nickname was "Ginger." I would like to know more information about him.

My portrait by the artist
mary scott (03/25/2004)
I have a portrait of my great grandmother Mary Fownes Tomac who lived in the NY area, signed by this artist. I never knew her. Would your father by chance has ever met her? I have no other information about her, as my family is all deceased. I am also wondering about the approximate value, but do not intend to sell the work. Mary Mellick Scott
