believe we bought many of his paintings from the Laurent Restaurant in NY in the 70's. anyone know if he consigned them there or where any family resides.

Family folklore has it that
Andre, while living in Yorktown Heights, NY, befriended my grandmother Rose. She babysat for his son and nursed his wife who I believe was ill for a time. In thanks, he painted a portrait of my aunt Mary and gave each of my grandmother's children a painting. They are all quite beautiful.

Is this the same artist who supposedly was born in France?
My mother told me yesterday that she posed for Andre Gisson at Lake Mahopac, New York, in the mid to late 60's. Would anyone have suggestions on where to begin researching this?
I think this artist and Jean Daunier are the same person. They paint the same, the style and age is the same.....I really feel they are the same artist. I also do not think in the day that Jean Daumier painted Gisson was worth it to copy....
