Earl Mayan's First Major cover
James Evans (10/19/2005)
I had spoken with Earl on several occasions in August of 2001. I own the original artwork for his first Cover for Saturday Evening Post Dec 1954. It is a work showing a man shoveling snow and then a second scene with a bulldozer covering up the driveway again. Earl told me that the yellow house was his mother-in-laws home, which he believed was still in existence, and that he is the driver of the bulldozer He also told me he had done previous interior work for the SEP and numerous ads for advertisers. He did some ads for Roy Rogers endorsed toys. This was his first Major cover.
