Guy MacCoy-Geno Pettit Serigraphs
MJ Burkhalter (11/12/2008)
In 1957 my family was given 6 serigraphs by a friend named H. Pettit. The first one "Red Flower" signed GUY MACCOY '41 in pencil, second "Red Houses" GUY MACCOY '42, third "Covered Bridge signed GUY MACCOY, all signed in pencil (red pencil on Red Flower). The fourth, "Come Autumn" is signed Geno Pettit 1943 (stamped on back in black ink, Sept. 10, 1943), fifth, "By the Sea signed Geno Pettit 39, sixth "Forever Pled" Geno Pettit '46, these also signed in pencil. I'm currently trying to confirm a family relationship between our H. Pettit and Geno Pettit. I have been unable to find much information concerning Geno Pettit's work in serigraphs. I would appreciate any interest or information you might have on her work or on any of these particular serigraphs. Thank You.

Guy Maccoy serigraphs and originals
Alan Linnemeyer (10/28/2005)
I had the profound pleasure to work beside and know Guy Maccoy for ten wonderful years up to his untimely passing. I worked as a printers technican in both his personal studio as well as his larger studio, along side Yvonne my mother who met Guy when he was teaching at Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. If anyone out there would like information about Guy Maccoy and the availablity of his work both original paintings and a large collection of serigraphs. I can be reached at

Guy MacCoy's work
Arlene Cartozian (06/04/2005)
6/4/05 I took an acrylic painting class from MacCoy at Otis in 1966. I purchased a serigraph from him of an abstract landscape. I heard that his home in Malibu burned along with the work. Is this true? What is the value of a 14x17 signed print today?

Shirley Storvik/Maccoy painting
Kay Frost (12/03/2004)
Shirley, is your work a painting or a screen print? On a screen print, the brush strokes will be missing and the colors will not blend but rather will remain as separate areas of color, regardless of how small these areas are. I can tell you more about your piece if I know whether it is a serigraph (screen print) or an oil. Kay Frost

As a collector of Maccoy's work, I am most interested in learning whether anyone has copies of Maccoy correspondence.
