Possible MIGNOT painting
Joseph Young (09/28/2007)
I have recently puchased a very old oil/linen painting from a mom&pop furniture store that sells estate leftovers. This is a landscape painting that is signed (Remy). Could anyone please let me know how Mignot signed his paintings, or what Remy my painting might be? I can foward a pic. if needed. Thank you

Louis Remy Mignot
John W. Coffey (12/28/2004)
As the co-author with Katherine Manthorne of LOUIS REMY MIGNOT: A SOUTHERN PAINTER ABROAD (Smithsonian Institution Press, 1996), and the compiler of the catalogue of known works, I welcome information on newly discovered or unrecorded works by Mignot.

Correction of Coffey e-mail
John W. Coffey (12/24/2004)
A thousand pardons for the error in the e-mail address given in my previos posting

Mignot drawings
robert mann (09/26/2004)
I have a collection of American drawings and have several South American drawings that I believe are by Mignot. I would appreciate learning of anyone who has Mignot drawings, particularly South American so that I could compare photos.

Mignot engravings
Donna Garcia (05/27/2001)
I have hand-colored engraving of the painting, "Washington and Lafayette at Mount Vernon." I'm interested in finding out how many of these engravings were done and how many may possibly still be in existance. I have the book "The Landscapes of Louis Remy Mignot" by Manthorne & Coffey. It refers to the fact the engravings were done in England prior to Mignot's death, but it makes no other mention of them. I would appreciate any other input.
